MG Motor Will Launch Its First Electric Vehicle For The Middle East Market At This Year’s International Conference On Future Mobility
In line with H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision of making Dubai a smart and sustainable city, MG Motor will enter the Middle East’s zero-emissions vehicle market at the 5th International Conference on Future Mobility (26-27 November, Dubai).
MG has developed a reputation for equipping its cars with innovation as standard, and this latest model opens an exciting new chapter in the increasingly high-profile story currently being written by the British-born brand.
SAIC Motor, the parent company of MG Motor, has been developing new energy vehicle since 2001 with a range of products in retail and commercial segments. The company sold 140,000 new energy vehicles in 2018, with its self-owned brands MG and Roewe accounting for the majority of these sales.
Tom Lee, Managing Director for MG Motor Middle East, commented: “The UAE is a pioneer in the region when it comes to sustainability and future technology. As MG embarks on a new era of electric mobility in the region, we are excited to be part of the UAE’s vision for smarter and cleaner cities. Now our product range satisfies the needs of an even more diverse range of drivers who are looking for style, practicality, affordability, and sustainability.”
MG has been enjoying a rapid rise in popularity among Middle East car buyers, and in 2018 registered record sales despite the challenging market conditions. With a network of dedicated retail partners across the Gulf region, boasting 22 modern showrooms and 23 service centres, the brand is rapidly expanding its presence.
Further details about MG’s new EV will be released and presented on November 26th at the opening day of the 5th International Conference on Future Mobility.
