Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider and Dubai Holding Group, signed a contract to supply the mega project ‘Marsa Al Arab’ with 3,700 Refrigeration Tons (RT) of District Cooling energy. The first phase of the District Cooling Services will start by the end of this year, and this will be done by extending the pipeline network from the District Cooling plant located in Jumeirah, using special techniques to pass the pipes by digging a tunnel under Jumeirah Road without disrupting the traffic.

Marsa Al Arab, one of the largest marine tourism and leisure destination, being developed on the Jumeira beaches, comprises two artificial islands on both sides of the Burj Al Arab Hotel, spreading across a total area of four million square feet (3700 square meters). The AED6 billion project features various hotels and luxury villas in addition to restaurants, shops, conference and wedding centers, a yacht club, and more.

It is worth noting that Empower supports the Dubai’s fast growing hospitality sector and more than 17% of the hotels in Dubai are served with company’s energy efficient and environmentally friendly district cooling services.
