His Excellency Eng. Awaidha Murshed Al Marar, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), said: “The activities planned to celebrate Emirati Women’s Day this year – themed ‘Women: Ambitions & Inspiration for Next 50 Years’ – honour the hopes, aspirations, hard work, and perseverance that Emirati women have demonstrated over the years, as they confidently made their way to the highest ranks in the UAE, the region, and the world.They celebrate women’s remarkable and historic achievements that have made them indispensable strategic partners in development plans for all sectors.

“The tremendous role that Emirati women have played is rooted in the confidence our leadership has placed in them since the establishment of our Union, in addition to the support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation,” H.E. Al Marar added. “This guarantees their place in the comprehensive and sustainable development process, ensures their continued involvement in the industries of the future, and supports their efforts to promote the UAE globally and across all sectors.

“Emirati women have proven their ability to adapt, learn, evolve, and skilfully navigate various circumstances with unparalleled professionalism, earning themselves a seat at the table when it comes to generating solutions and setting development plans,” H.E. Al Marar said.

“Today, Emirati women have become a role model, combining traditional and modern qualities. Their actions reflect the extent of their culture and knowledge,” H.E. Al Marar added. “As mothers, sisters, and daughters, as well as an influential part of the workforce and the community, they play an important role in driving sustainability, promoting a culture of wise energy consumption, and establishing an integrated system to preserve resources.”
