A visible consequence of a warming planet is an increase in the intensity and frequency of extreme weather events. In the new Net Zero show – Net Zero Speaks with John Paul Jose – climate activist Komal Mittal interviews John Paul, an environmental activist from India. Hailing from an agricultural family that relies on the earth and nature to survive, John Paul has experienced first-hand the impacts of the climate crisis and ecological destruction. This inspired Jose to work with the UN Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Convention on Combating Desertification (UNCCD), to address global warming. “Collaboration is one of the key things we need now,” says Jose. “We have to explore ways we can bring tangible results on the ground. In the current scenario young people are the best communicators of the climate science”
