Climate tech entrepreneur and CEO of Climind, Karen Wang, is calling for global action to measure, manage, and save our planet through innovative solutions and collaboration. In a recent interview with Vedaant Thuse Bal from Net Zero, Wang discussed the role of big data in helping us achieve a sustainable future.

Climind is a platform for climate change information that offers data storage and analytics services tailored for climate challenges. Its goal is to help researchers and companies unleash the potential of climate data to facilitate decision making. Karen, a UN Young Leader for the SDGs and Forbes 30 under 30 honoree, is committed to using technology to drive progress towards a more sustainable future. Climate change isn’t just a problem, it’s a data problem. “When you can measure something better you can manage your use of it better,” Wang said. “The issue is how to integrate data better, which technically can be difficult for companies.” Wang believes the major stakeholders must work together to find innovative solutions that make it easier for all to take meaningful climate action. She wants to shift the conversation from blame to action. “I think if you approach climate solutions as a way of being better rather than punishing bad behavior, that’s an easier way to guide people to a sustainable path,” she notes.
