Hilton Garden Hotel Inn Mall of Emirates is collaborating with the Dubai-based, female-led company Save Our World to stock ‘The Eco-heroes’ environmental children’s book series in its retail outlet. ‘The Eco-heroes’ series is written by Colette Barr and illustrated by Leona Collins, two Dubai residents who created Save Our World to raise awareness of environmental issues and help people make positive choices to protect the planet.

Aimed mainly at six to ten-year olds, the fun books feature Emirati, Indian, European, and South African characters. They are published sustainably and written, illustrated, and printed in the UAE using recycled paper and vegetable inks from local suppliers; they also feature the Dubai font. The Arabic version has been translated by renowned Emirati author and editor Noura Al Khoori.

As part of Travel with Purpose, Hilton’s corporate responsibility program, environmental initiatives are a big focus for both Hilton and our hotel.”

Colette Barr, ‘The Eco-heroes’ author added: “We do a lot to promote the books on a community level, and it is fantastic to have the books stocked by a hotel like Hilton Garden Inn; it also reinforces our belief that by coming together to take small steps, we can make a big difference.”

There are currently three books available: ‘The Eco-heroes and the Plastic Planet’, ‘The Eco-heroes Fight For Food’, and ‘The Eco-heroes Recycling Trip Trouble’.
