Sensus, a specialist in water metering solutions and a precursor to smart water networks in the Middle East, has today unveiled its new ultrasound static water meter, Cordonel, that has been designed to help achieve a smarter utility network.

With GCC utilities expected to invest more than $100bn in digital solutions over the next five years, Cordonel is set to support the region’s digital transformation journey and GCC’s ambitions to manage precious water resources.

With over 33% of the world’s drinking water lost before it reaches consumers, there is increasing urgency for utilities to undergo digital transformation, and integrate their IT, OT, and IoT systems to optimise costs, support energy sustainability, and enhance energy efficiency with innovations such as smart grids and smart meters.

Cordonel is an intelligent response to government-led nationwide digital transformation initiatives and Smart Cities developments across the Middle East, and especially in the GCC Council countries. Sensus are at the forefront of supporting this move towards digital utilities, energy efficiency, and securing critical national energy infrastructure.
